Credit Cards For People With No Credit

I am planning on getting a student credit card before i go to school in the fall and I cannon decide which would be the best for me. I have it narrowed down to 3 cards...

1. Citi mtvU Platinum Visa for College students
2. Citi Forward Student Card
3. Discover Student Card

Please help me decide

I have 5 credit cards carrying a total balance of 00. I got a credit card offer for 0% on balance transfers until January 2009. Should I transfer 1 or 2 of the other cards balances to take advantage of the 0%? Or will it be worse for me to be opening another account? I was not planning on closing any of the credit card accounts, b/c i figure it would be better for my credit to have the older ones on there. Does this sound ok?

I currently have a 498 dollar balance, but I charged something near the closing period so they are showing me my balance before that. There is no option for minimum payment, just other amount. I have enrolled in direct pay, and it says my next scheduled withdrawal is November 6th. What about this month? I've only had the credit card since September though.

I transferred a balance from Capital One to Citi because my interested on capital one was recently increased. The only issue is I still use that card and pay it all off every month since the interest on that card is 23.99% How can I pay the balance transfer off at the same time while not paying interest on the other charges that I put on that credit card?
