I am planning to do a little bit remodelling for our house, which will cost us around 10K. I have an offer from Credit card company for 4.99% checks for the life of the balanace and also another offer for home equity for prime rate 8% (since I only borrow the minimun, they can't give me their best rate).
Considering tax refund and fico score, which one should I take? If I take the credit card offer, will it hurt my FICO score more than if I take the home equity? (my score is around 765).

I am looking for a charge card or credit card that offers benefits that exceed 1% back on regular purchases and 3% back on gas and grocery. Annual fee is OK – I am not interested in airline miles – just CASH BACK options. Any suggestions?

I'm looking to do a balance transfer. I have other cards, but they don't have any good offers on them, and I need a new card anyway just as a backup. I've been looking at Citi cards. What is the best one for general shopping (basic retail, groceries, gas, etc.) that is an all-around general card but that has 12 months no interest? Also, I've looked around on some websites...and I can't help but to notice that a consistently common amount of people with certain Citi cards seem to have higher credit limits than other people with different cards. I know that typing in the balance transfer info at the start can sometimes get you a little bit higher credit limit in general for the new card. Income and credit history also can affect this. I have a great credit history, and a credit score of about 750+ at least. Which Citi cards (if any, this is theoretical) start out with better/higher credit limits? Also, I'm looking for a Visa...not Mastercard.

Are there any other major companies that I'm missing? I've already got Bank of America, AmEx, and Discover already. I've had Chase (HSBC bank) in the past...they were horrible and I cancelled a long time ago. I don't know a lot about Citi. Any other good companies? I know that all usually charge a balance transfer/transaction fee for doing so, but this will save me a ton of interest in the long run.

Umm...if you don't know what you're talking about, please do not "point game" on my question. I can't stand that and will report every single person that gives some goofy and non-related opinionated answer or link to some silly credit counseling website. I am not 'in debt'...I pay my bills just fine, so I don't need "credit counseling" links and the other stuff I have seen people post in other people's questions on here.
So...what would you recommend, then?

My husband is usually too busy to deal with customer service, when it's necessary. He wants any credit cards we have to be in my name so I can handle that type of stuff without someone talking to him, every time. The thing is, I remember doing a balance transfer awhile back, that said the primary account holder names had to be the same on the two cards. I searched a little bit online, and it doesn't appear that this is alway the case now. My question is, which cards allow this, or what resource should I use to find out?
