I am traveling to England and Ireland from the USA and I prefer to use my Discover card b/c I get 5% cash back on hotel purchases during that time. However I do not know if Discover is excepted there. We are going to Dublin, Galway area and then south of there and back up to Dublin. London I am not worried about because we are staying with friends. Thank you for your help.

hey, just turned 18, i think i am very responsibly, have had a couple different jobs, and am starting one in the spring, i have horses, i still live at home to help my mom out, and the fact i am no where ready to go off on my own. so me and my mom have been looking at ways to start up my credit, and we are looking for a credit card for people starting out, with no credit, and with her help, and of coarse i will have a payment plan with her when i am working, its her hope as well as mine for me to have good credit. so any ideas? i have looked around, and have applied to a couple different cards but was rejected, i still don't understand why, but my 3 older siblings have already destroyed their own credit, before the age of 23, and i know i do not want to end up like them. so any help would be greatly appreciated, i want to be more responsibly and be able to take care of my own animals and myself with out my mom having to be so stressed all of the time, my older siblings left as soon as they could, and they have been living here back and forth over the years because of their financial problems, this is why i will not leave until i am fit to take care of myself, and my animals. i am a hard worker, my mom raised me well, though i am still learning about all my future responsibilities. the only reason i do not have a job now is because of medical issues that have now been taking care of, so i am ready to move on, so hope to talk with someone soon! your friend, trish

My husband and I have a credit card through our joint bank account. Recently, we transferred a balance onto this card because there was a 15month 0% interest rate on balance transfers. I have excellent credit and my husband has okay credit. Never missed a payment and never late on a payment. We have been paying well over the minimum on our bank cc for the past several months in order to have it paid off by the time the 0% interest expires. Anyways we just got a letter that says they are decreasing our credit limit because of the following:
"Amount owed on revolving accs is too high"
"Proportion of balances to credit limits is too high on revolving accts"
"Length of time accts have been established"

I pay my cards off in full every month and have minimal (less than 00 cc debt that is on another 0% interest card). My husband has higher balances but pays at least the min every month. Our balance is still less than our new credit limit, I dont want this to impact buying a house.
