I applied several times, and I'd like to think that I have decent credit, but no - I keep getting rejected. Standing by for somebodys viewpoint!

I’m pretty sure that it has a lot to do with the current credit crisis. I have 2 Capital One credit cards (Mastercard & Visa) and at one point I received 3 credit increases in 1 year. I believe that they increased my limit 2 more times the next year. But those days are long gone now.

And every time you apply your drop your credit score. It could be the number of inquiry’s on your credit.

Because right now with the credit crisis, many people with perfect credit are actually getting credit limit decreases not increases.
The banks are now going back to basics. They are not only looking at your credit. They are making sure that you will also have the means to pay. So are you making good money? Are you working in industry that isn’t as prone to the downturn? What percentage of your credit limit are you currently using?
Probably when you have asked to have you limit increased several times, the bank sees you as desperate for more credit and therefore a credit risk.

when they started out they were great. i have a business credit card and it started out at 3k it stayed that way for 3 years then went to 3.5k. that aint enough for me and i am going to move on. i tried to get increases and they said they dont do it verbally any more. they will periodically review the account and make the increase if they feel it is a good thing
