What To do About Discover card repeatedly calling?

Discover card has been calling my disable dad all day-everyday. He only gets paid SSI once a month but, he always send what he can. Which is usually 100 dollars every month. After they called five times back to back today I asked the lady why they are calling so much I had just talked to some one else the day before. She told me they could call 7 times a day and they would. Is there any thing we can do? HELP HELP HELP! THEY ARE DRIVING US CRAZY!

To legally get them to stop calling you, send a "cease and desist" letter.
    See sample below.
Send it certified mail, and do not hand write any thing in that letter. Type it all including your signature, and the envelope.
Get the green card back in the mail. Keep a paper trail. Use your own wording in this sample:

They will have to stop harassing you. If they continue, you can complain to the FTC here:

Tell them not to call anymore. Get the name and ID number of the person you talk to.

Once you instruct them not to call, it is against federal law for them to call you.

I would either change my number or tell them that he no longer lives there. They will eventually stop calling if you tell them that he no longer lives there.

it’s probably not discover card people calling but mostly like a collection agency
trying to collect on the debt what you have to them as them their
name and address and then you have to mail a request (cerfited
mail return receipt) asking them to discontinue all contract with you
    at your number
telling then on the phone isn’t going to work
(I assume he owes discover card some money?)

Surely you can leave the phone off the hook if they are really driving you crazy.
Get your dad an old style mobile phone off ebay for emergency, they can be found for $2 if you are capable of using the search feature..

They may be in violation of Federal Trade Commission rules- easy to check out on the net. If not, tell pop to have fun with it. He can jerk their chain for hours. It works great with telemarketers, too!

Maybe he should settle his debts, i know a company. You can go to crystalcreditsolutions.vpweb.com they can help settle your debts and will change your contact information so all the disturbing calls get directed to their customer service line. or if you dont want to take care of your debts, you can simply change your telephone # with your phone company and make sure it doesnt get published in the white pages of the public phone books. good luck
